In spite of the soaring temperatures on the day, well-known faces from politics and business attended the ceremony. Governor for Upper Austria, Dr. Josef Pühringer made the opening speech, and took the opportunity to confirm that no more obstacles stood in the way of building the new expressway, which will be strategically important for Greiner Bio-One. Franz Konrad, general manager of Greiner Bio-One said how impressed he was by the speed and professionalism with which a company of this size could be settled in Upper Austria, and the lack of bureaucratic hurdles.

30 million Euros are being invested in Rainbach over the next few years, creating 100 new workplaces in just the first phase of building. This stage became a necessity due to a large contract with a pharmaceutical company. In addition to safety products for blood collection, mainly Petri dishes for bacteriological examinations will be produced in Rainbach. The construction work is planned to be finished in record time. By February 2009 the first Petri dishes should be in production.
